The HORNETS began the season with two pre-season games.  The first game June 26) was with an non-league member the Lexington Dragons where the HORNETS win 46-0.  The HORNETS scheduled a second preseason game (July 12) with a league member, Carolina Bulldogs (Indianland, SC).  The HORNETS came off with a second win 28-6.  
The young HORNET squad, did not heed the warnings of the veteran players concerning their opening game (July 26) with the Carolina Eagles (Concord).  
This proved to be a humbling mistake. 
The HORNETS fell 34-0 to a well prepared Carolina Eagles(Concord, NC).  
The humbled HORNETS bounce back the next week (Aug 2) with a 18-12 win over the Carolina Gators (Charlotte, NC).
The HORNETS prepare for their rival Iredell Warriors.  On Aug 9, the Warriors hold the HORNETS to 13 points. The Warriors win 27-13 over the HORNETS.  
The HORNETS travel Aug 16 to Greenville, SC where they play the 2007 champions the Greenville Seminoles.
